The original plan from yesterday was to drive home this morning and come back next weekend to move the boat back to Kidderminster. However upon waking up this morning we realised that the ice had all gone, so we decided to chug back to the mooring and then walk back to get the car!

On the way home we called round Lowsonford in Warwickshire. There is a mooring there coming up for auction and we thought we’d take a look. The southern Stratford canal is about the only bit of waterway in the Midlands that we have never done, so we wouldn’t mind mooring there for a year or two.

In the end we decided not to put in a bid for the mooring as the nearest winding points are 7 locks in either direction, which really restricts trips to alternate directions.
