Bakers Farm – near Malvern : 17-18 June<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jim and Mo were already here when we arrived. We parked up, said our “Hellos”, then had lunch under tne shade of a convenient tree. It has been very hot, possibly the hotest day of the year so far. A wander over the common to stretch our legs, then back to rest under tne shade of our awnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saturday’s weather was very different, cold and raining for most of the day. Though there was a break in the afternoon long enough for us to manage a short walk around local footpaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunday brought better weather again. After packing up we drove to another common a few miles away for a walk around a lake and then lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are going to spend a couple of nights at Hay on Wye, then\u00a0 move on to near Malvern and join Jim & Mo for a couple of nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we couldn’t get on to the site until noon we stopped off for a while at Talgarth. A bit of a stroll around tne town then tea\/coffee\/cakes at the old converted watermill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On arrival at Dark Orchard there was no one to greet us so we found a good spot and set up. It’s a biggish site so with only five vans there was plenty of space. After lunch we walked into the town to look for somewhere to eat in the evening. There were a few places, we chose The Three Tuns. The Castle had just reopened after some major renovation and we had a good look round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thursday is market day so we walked up into the town for a wander round the market and get something for lunch. The afternoon was spent going for a longish walk along the riverside in lovely, warm sunshine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s been so quiet and peaceful here, only the sound of birdsong, a babbling stream and the occasional bleat of a sheep.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
