Chester

We awoke to a cold, frosty, foggy morning. We could hardly see more than about a hundred yards.

Cant see the bridge just up ahead

We carried on through the fog, round Barbridge junction and on through the Bunbury staircase. As we approached Tilstone lock it was still very misty.

Still misty!

Then suddenly about midday the sky cleared and the sun came out. Along this stretch we saw several kingfishers. One stayed still long enough for a picture.

Just Beautiful

We shared all the locks down into Chester with NB “Dawn Treader”. They were experienced boaters and together we made a good team.

The triple staircase locks at Northgate we completed at 16:30 and we moored up near the River Dee link.

A pleasant, peaceful mooring
