Just south of Hempstead

Onwards to Gloucester in lovely warm sunny weather. The trip down isnt very interesting as the river has high flood banks, but our guests enjoyed it as they hadn’t been on the Severn before.

Up through Gloucester lock, then onto the finger moorings in the docks to go for a mooch round the shops in the “Quays”. We had intended to moor as usual by Hempstead bridge, but there was no room. Instead we found a lovely spot just around the corner from the new swing bridge. It’s a better spot than Hempstead, so we’ll use it again. The early evening was spent sitting out on the grass with a glass or two of wine.
