Back in the marina

It rained heavily overnight and was still raining as we had breakfast. The forecast was for it to stop around 11:00, or maybe 10:00 by some forecasts. So we waited.

Just after ten, the sky cleared and the rain stopped. One of the boats from yesterday came past and we set off too. We shared Bevere lock with them, but then we pulled in at Hawford junction, but they carried on up river.

Tom and I did the first two locks up off the river, but then Heddi and Sue did the remaining 6 wide ones, walking between them.

As we travelled the longish stretch between the last lock and Droitwich we took lunch of filled bread rolls made by Tom.

In order to ensure the front was well down for the motorway tunnel we topped up the water at Netherwich basin. As it turned out we needn’t have bothered as the water level through the tunnel was quite low anyway.

The swing bridges in Vines Park were easier than usual as we met an oncoming boat for the second one, and shared the barge lock with another boat for that one.

Back to the marina by about four o’clock, a bit of chilling then off to the Eagle & Star for our evening meal.
