Astley Burf

Another day of following boat, even though we made an early start. It seems like others had the same idea. Again we met the non cooperative boaters. This time at falling sands lock. There was a boat coming up and we were second in the queue behind the non helpers. They just stood back and didn’t go near the lock until the other boat had left. As it passed us the upcoming boat made a comment about their friendliness!

On arrival at Mart lane, lock above the Stourport basins, there was a long queue, longer that the available waiting space. It was a bit chaotic, but we eventually got down. Two of the boats wanted the services and the unhelpful boat’s home mooring is in the basin. So we were only second in line for the staircase. With two going down and one coming up and a wind blowing it got a bit difficult, but we got through. Instead of mooring on the floating pontoons we went through the first lock and moored at the Lenchford Inn.
