Kidderminster to Saul III

Gloucester Docks

My sister San, her partner John and my Mum came to see us just after lunch. As Mum isnt very steady on her legs we pulled over to the services area at Slimbridge Boat station for her to get on. We topped up with diesel whilst there. We took them for a little chug up

Patch Bridge

We found a realy good mooring by Patch bridge and have stayed here for several days, just doing a few jobs on the boat and people watching. Liz, Simon & the grandchildren came to see us on Sunday, and Caroline, Val & Sophie on Monday.

Purton

We moved down to Purton and Sue & Tom joined us for lunch. Took them for a little chug down towards Sharpness and back. They had to leave as Tom was milking that evening. We then went up to Patch Bridge at Slimbridge where we stayed until Thursday.

Onto the G & S

Today’s aim was to get through Gloucester and onto the G&S canal. The summer opening times of Severn locks are 8:00 – 18:00, so we set off at 8:10 for Lower Lode lock about half a mile away. When we got there we found that there isn’t really anywhere to moor up to wait, so
