Anderton Visitor’s Mooring

We awoke to blue skies and it stayed like that all day, reaching 23°C by early afternoon.

The lock keepers at Hunts lock dont come on duty until 9:30 on weekends. So we chugged up slowly then moored up and waited for them.

On through Vale Royal locks and and to Winsford, where we moored up in the ‘marina’. Lunch was taken as a picnic on one of the park benches nearby. After a short trip to look around the town (not worth it) we started back.

We had planned to moor up somewhere on the way back and go for a walk, but it was so hot that we decided to keep going in the cooling breeze.

By the time we had moored up at Anderton the sun had cooled slightly so a walk through the wooded area by the lift was called for. The rest of the evening was spent sat out on the pontoon .
