On our Bikes

We arrived yesterday afternoon and just did a few jobs and chilled out. Heddi saw a poster advertising the Black Country Boat Festival which is on this weekend. We checked in Nicholsons and found that it was about 10 miles along the towpath to the festival site at Netherton, so decided that we would cycle there.
It took us about an hour and a half. The lock flights at Stourbridge and Delph were hard work!
There were lots of boats on show, mostly restored traditional working boats, various trade and charity stands and a fun fair. It was very popular with lots of people enjoying the sunshine. We saw the Cheese Boat again and bought some more of their wonderful Snowdonia cheese.

We were glad that it was downhill on the way back as our legs were tired and we were a little saddle sore. We got back to the boat about 4:30 and it started to rain which continued on into the evening.
