Just a quick visit to charge the batteries. The Eberspascher is on a frost stat to bring the central heating on, but in this cold weather it soon drains the battery. I ran the engine for about 3 hours and we warmed up the boat by lighting the fire.
I noticed that the frost stat seem to be sticking ‘on’, which is running the heating more than necessary. It’s an old mechanical type. I think I may replace it with a digital one.
The canal was frozen over but not very thickly and a boat came through the ice during the afternoon.
We would have stayed overnight but Heddi’s dad was taken into Gloucester hospital yesterday so we are going to visit him on the way home.
