Salthouse Dock

For the past week we have being doing the tourist thing in Liverpool.

The moorings are right in the heart of the docks, next to Albert dock which has in recent years been turned into a tourist attraction.

The highlights for us were the Metropolitan Cathedral (including the Luytens crypt), ‘The Beatles Story’, an open top bus tour, the Maritime museum and Speke Hall.

We met up with an old college friend of Heddi’s who is an NT volunteer at Speke hall. She took us by car and provided an excellent personal tour.

After visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral we had lunch in the Philharmonic Dining Rooms, which is famed for it’s interior and the gents toilets!

A very opulent pub!
