Middlewich top lock

Yesterday we brought grandson Josh and his wife ( granddaughter-in-law ?) Georgia for a couple of days onboard. Unfortunately the M5/M6 traffic meant we didn’t arrive until 8:00pm. So by tne time we had unloaded and eaten it was more or less bedtime.

This morning we set off towards Anderton. We stopped there for about an hour so they could have a look at the lift and visitor centre. After winding by the top of the lift we set off back towards Middlewich. This was to give them the chance to do some locks. It’s several years since Josh was onboard and it was Georgia’s first time.

Up through the locks and winding at tne junction to moor up just above the top lock.

Both Josh and Georgia are vegetarian, and Josh is gluten intolerant, so we went in search of a pub or restaurant that could accommodate them. Staff at the White Bear were very helpful and adapted something from their menu for Josh.
