Anderton

Simon had arranged with Thorne Marine for a pumpout and diesel top up. So they set off early and we followed about 30 minutes later. The thinking was that they would be finished by the time we got there. But they hadn’t even started. Thorne wanted to get their day boats ready first.

So we chugged on slowly leaving Karen and Simon to catch up. We got to the tunnel with about 15 mins to wait and The Bath Tub turned up just before the allotted time.

An uneventful trip to Anderton. We had hoped to go to the Red Lion for our last night meal. It was with a bit of trepidation as we hadn’t eaten in a pub since the pandemic began. At first we moored on the pubs own moorings, but it was really satisfactory. We moved around violently each time a boat passed. There wasn’t ant room around on the usual visitor moorings. But the lift was out of action for repairs, so I asked if we could moor on the lift waiting moorings and was told that would be OK.
