Another early start as the weather forecast is for another hot day. We left at 6:50. It’s been a really quiet day boatwise. All the way through the centre of Birmingham and out to Wolverhampton we have only passed three moving boats. Since we moored up another has passed us.

We came along the old main line as it is more interesting ( other than the section under the M5 ). As we came up to Smethwick top lock I recognised it immediately as where we have a photo on the wall in the boat. We took the photo many years ago, but had forgotten where. This is the view.

We don’t like mooring at Wolverhampton top lock – too noisy. So we dropped down the first six and stopped there – much quieter.
