Lower Bittel Reservoir

Friends Andrew & Sheila joined us today to help us up Tardebigge locks. There are 30 locks in just less than 2 miles. Sheila dropped Andrew off at 8:00 and drove up to the top of the flight and walked back down to meet us.

Off we go

So with a crew of three we set off. Having more than two makes such a difference as we can have one ahead setting the next lock. We were very lucky, almost all were empty.

Before long Sheila met us, and now with four bodies we made good progress, the top was reached just after eleven o’clock.

A short break for coffee and a natter, then off in Andrew’s car for a pub lunch at the “Ewe and Lamb”

They drove us back to the boat and we chugged on through two tunnels and a few miles to stop near Lower Bittel Reservoir.

At last
