We had left the boat at Splatt for a few days whilst we went down to Devon in Bertie our campervan. This morning we returned with Sue and Tom. They gave us a lift back as we are going back up tne Severn tomorrow and our car is already at Droitwich. After coffees & teas we winded and set off for Sharpness. Just after passing through the Purton bridges the heavens opened for a heavy downpour. So we quickly moored up and had lunch. Then a short chug to Sharpness, after another stop for a walk we took them back up to Splatt to pick up their car. We carried on, topped up the diesel at Joe Energy, then stopped for tne night about half a mile past Parkend bridge. From here we can go all the way to Hempstead in the morning before the bridge keepers come on duty at 8:00 as the next three bridges are high enough for us to get under.
