Cruising on the Severn
It rained all night, but by the morning had more or less stopped, with just bits of drizzle. The top of the boat was covered in leaves and seed heads from the willow trees along the bank. As we knew it would be a longish day we set off about 8:00. Breakfast, consisting of bacon
We left Tytherington in three cars at 7:45. Heddi and I in one each and Jan & Mike in theirs. In the little car park near Splatt bridge we moved various stuff from one car to another and then all piled into my car. Leaving the other two cars behind we headed up to Kinver.
A thick mist had descended over the river during the night and, as the sun rose, it looked really great in the sunshine. We gave up any thought of going back into the shops and, after breakfast, set off back up to Stourport. It was fairly chilly but a really great morning to be on

Woke up to light drizzly rain, which lasted until about 10 o’clock. So we had a leisurely breakfast waiting for the weather to improve. Eventually we dropped down Avon lock and out onto the Severn. An uneventful trip up to Worcester where we are moored in our usual spot just upstream of the rowing clubs.
A long and tiring day today. We called Gloucester lock and asked to be locked down at 8:00. Because of the current low-water restrictions we had to wait until 8:45 in case any other boats wanted to go as well. There were a few other boats about, but no-one had appeared by 8:40 so we
